Update 3.0
ThrilledI really need to get better updating habits, but that'll have to wait until I get my new computer, which I finally ordered! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
finally I'll be able to do my assignments at home for a change and I won't have to stay at school until it closes every day. =/ I'll start spending more time on the internet again since I'll be making a website soon, and more regularly updating my gallery since I'm often asked by prospective employers where they can look at my work at their own leisure, and I'm always kicking myself when I say I don't have a place that really represents my work as well as it should. So that'll change soon hopefully.
I've had my internship at Crash 'n Sues take up a lot of my time lately. Great place and nice coworkers, but not really an animation house. Even though they do do some animation work now and then, the majority of their work is visual effects and duplication of media in almost every format imaginable. I have a hunch that they might like my work and my being there enough for them to ask me to stay when I'm done with school, but, with all due respect, I think I'll look for opportunities where I can focus on animation more.
I'm starting to get used to actually working for pay, which for a long time was an uncomfortable subject. Mostly because I've never asked for money for my artwork until now. I couldn't ask to be paid to do something that I thought was just fun and not a legitimate service. At least that was the perception I had of it in high school and my first two years of college. But anyway, the market is less intimidating now and I'm starting to network in Minneapolis fairly well. So that's a plus.
Also when this new website is assembled I'll start posting some of my animation work. I figure I'll make them internet ready on that site first then maybe start posting on devart. That way the origin will be traced back to my site and not deviant art. So that's another thing on the horizon that I'm looking forward to.
Hmmm... what else.... OH! I think I have my final out-of-class production project decided. I won't say too much, but it will combine 2D animation with 3D dynamics and environments. Maybe I'll post some concept art sometime before Christmas. I hope to have the animatic ready by January.
